Won't You Be My Pen Pal?

It’s cool to write letters! We wanted to facilitate meaningful connections between Reed students, and we thought it’d be fun if everyone could get a random pen pal to write to, while drinking hot apple cider, eating homemade cookies and feeling wholesome vibes in the Student Union.

So we created a Google Form for people to sign up, a box for people to put letters into, and we randomly paired the letters with each other (with the exception of some letters that listed certain preferances for a pen pal). We even hosted an event where we provided stationary, cookies and cider, letter prompts, and a comfortable space to write a first letter to a potential pen pal.
